Advanced Care for Vein Disease

What are Some Options for Vein Treatment?

  • Compression stockings (usually medical grade 20-30 mm Hg)

  • Weight loss, exercise, and leg elevation

  • Minimally invasive thermal and nonthermal vein closure procedures (RFA, Venaseal, Sclerotherapy)

  • Removal of the diseased vein

If you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms of a suspected vein condition or disease, we can help. Our experienced Davis Vein & Vascular team can provide in-the-moment insight into precisely what’s going on in your veins throughout your body. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with venous insufficiency or have just experienced the appearance of varicose veins for the first time, vein evaluation is the best first step in getting a personalized treatment plan fit for your vascular health and wellness goals.

Why is a Vein Evaluation Necessary?

Vein evaluations are a necessary step in real-time confirmation and diagnosis of vein disease. Ultrasound technology provides a view of both deep and superficial venous systems. It helps diagnose chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, arterial disease, and potentially dangerous blood clots. During an ultrasound vein evaluation, our vascular experts can see how blood flows through your veins and identify areas where the effects of various vein diseases impair flow. Ultrasound results also provide information about specific areas that may require immediate treatment.

How is Vein Disease Diagnosed?

At Davis Vein & Vascular, we perform diagnostic ultrasound evaluations in our office as a quick and thorough way to diagnose vein disease. During your initial vein evaluation, you will receive a thorough examination of all the veins in your legs and a screening for arterial disease if deemed necessary. Our experienced team of doctors will thoroughly interpret the results of your ultrasound in the office to ensure the most accurate diagnosis. Then, we will discuss treatment options with you and answer any questions. Once your diagnosis is confirmed, your treatment plan will be tailored to your personalized health and wellness goals, with optimal venous health top of mind.

Cosmetic Schlerotherapy

Similar to the ultrasound-guided option, this cosmetic procedure utilizes a small needle to inject medication into spider and small varicose veins to lessen their appearance and mitigate symptoms.

Radiofrequency Perforator Ablation

A procedure specializing in treating perforator veins – short connections between your deep and superficial veins. The perforator veins are closed and cut off from abnormal blood flow between the deep and superficial veins using radiofrequency energy.

Microphlebectomy

A minor office procedure used to remove bulging varicose veins.  After injecting numbing medication small “micro” incisions are made over the bulging vein to remove the vein.

Types of Vein Treatment

Various vein treatments can help improve symptoms and vein health quickly. At Davis Vein & Vascular, we proudly offer the procedures featured below.

Venaseal Ablation

This minimally invasive procedure uses a small amount of medical adhesive to “glue” the vein closed. The glue permanently seals the vein closed and causes blood to reroute to normal healthy veins.

Radiofrequency Ablation

A minimally invasive procedure that treats varicose veins and venous insufficiency by inserting a catheter into an abnormal vein and supplying it with heat energy to close it off permanently.

Ultrasound Guided Foam Schlerotherapy

A minimally invasive outpatient procedure used to treat varicose veins and other problems caused by venous insufficiency using a tiny needle and an ultrasound guide to inject medication into the affected area.
